Oceanfront Lodge Reviews
Summary: We usually have a great experience booking through Hotels.com but the stay at the Oceanfront Lodge was pretty bad. We have stayed there before (years ago) and it was pretty good (freindly staff, fairy clean, quiet, etc). This stay (one week long) was pretty bad. The rooms location was great (ocean front, lighthouse view), and the staff were generally pleasant... but... the elevator was dirty and felt like it wasn't working well. The room was clean, but well worn, I tried to call front desk to ask for more pillows but the phone didn't work also the bedside light and microwave didn't work. I went down and told the front desk about the phone and requested more pillows (the phone never was repaired and we never got the pillows the whole week). We requested clean towels everyday but never got them until day 6 of our stay (I demanded them from room cleaners in hallway). Garbage wasn't taken out until the 6th day of stay and sheets were never changed or beds made the entire stay. Also, the entire staff were teen agers (maybe 1-2 young adults around 20-23 yrs); we thought a few were as young as 13-14 yrs old. We saw quite a few quests that were very angry about their service.

Summary: With this hotel - the thing you are really paying for is the location - which is amazing. The mattresses on the bed were memory foam and very comfortable so that's a big plus as well. It was amazing to sleep with the windows open and hear the ocean all night. Literally on the beach and had a great view of the lighthouse that's right there and a nice walk in the morning. The fridge works. It's pretty clean.
The coffee maker didn't work. There was no body wash in the body wash container. The hair dryer was burned out, literally melted. There was supposed to be someone at the front desk at 7:30 am but they weren't there until after 8 am. The restaurant and bar had a single server/bartender and a cook. (I'm not sure if she was doing all three.) She also was making a bloody mary but took it into the kitchen and I think it was for someone in there because she didn't take it out to the table. People were waiting to eat but left because no one came out for quite a while.
Will I stay there again the next time I am in Crescent City - maybe. It certainly wasn't a dirty, rat infested hotel. It was clean enough. I am just saying that some people might want a nicer accommodation.

Summary: Room wasn’t very clean. Broken toilet seat, and toilet parts inside tank needed replacing. Bath tub stopper was broken.
Sorry, but we’ve stayed before and things were better. Staff however, were excellent, cheerful.

Summary: The place is nice, great location. The reason we wanted to stay there was because of the advertised hot tub and indoor pool. The hot tub wasn't working, the water wasn't even hot. The pool room was so steamy and the air thick with chlorine smell, I couldn't even stand to be in there had I wanted to use the pool. We had a jetted tub but the jets didn't work. We'd been camping and were looking forward to the stay. Plus there were two spiders in the room.

Summary: The spa was cool and when I asked the staff about it they said they could get ahold of the manager.
The hallway leading to our room smelled like trash and the trash bin by our room had stains on the floor. I called the staff concerning the smell and stains and it took 1 day for them to do something about the smell and the stains on the floor were never taken care of.
The blow dryer in the room did not work. We called the staff and they said they could not help us because they didn’t have any more blow dryers.
All in all the experience there was not great.
