Oceanfront Lodge | Hotel in Crescent City

The only recommendation for this hotel is this location. It has an absolutely fantastic view of the bay and it’s right on the ocean, which is great, but the building has not seen any love for many many years and when I asked for an extra towel, they would not give it to me. I had to bring a towel down or pay $25 for a towel.

This is a one stop shopping location with beautiful oceanfront views. I came into town because my daughter was having surgery, but we made the most of the day before. We enjoyed our walk to the lighthouse which was a short walk away. We ate at the restaurant that had great prices and very reasonable happy hour cocktails. The clam chowder and the food were very yummy.. We loved the indoor hot tub and pool, along with the trails to the beaches where there were many interesting driftwood forts made to view. The entire experience was very relaxing, and I will definitely be back with my boyfriend to experience a romantic getaway at this location soon..

We have very fond memories of our first stay here years ago during our first trip to Crescent City so when our daughter chose to come back to see the Redwoods as part of her senior trip we knew exactly where we wanted to stay. We stayed for 3 nights this time and will go back home with even more good memories from here. We really enjoyed the view and sounds from the balcony. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean with comfortable beds, the pool and hot tub were clean and maintained, the restaurant was delicious.

I paid the MOST for this hotel as the last hurrah on a 15 day trip. I was sad. It was an ocean view… which is beautiful. But the room wasn’t a $350 quality room. Memory foam topper. And bed too tall. I could not get comfortable. And. The chair was so filthy I could t sit in that. The wood floors were coming up and the curtain fell off the bar because the bar popped off when I touched it. Then the bathroom light fixture was broken. What got me the MOST was dirty towels. Disgusting dirty towels. I didn’t take a shower. I tried to sleep but the sheet kept coming off the bed, didn’t fit. I got up at 5. Waited to 7 to get coffee and pancakes. They don’t offer more in the all you can eat pancakes. And the waitress was exhausted. Don’t get me wrong. The cooks at the restaurant are really good. Good happy hour and food. But the room and price turned me off so badly. I don’t know if they are renovating or what. But that whole staff was stressed and that place was NOT clean. I’d ask for my money back. But I honestly don’t want to deal with them. I’m just very very disappointed. And. I will check reviews better before booking high end. They do NOT at all meet high end.

View and location were great but the facilities were dated and the room was a bit dirty and worn. Elevator door closed on us, twice. And luggage cart squealed relentlessly. Too was a good size we paid the additional for the ocean front ocean view with the balcony. I would do it again for the view. Great location. Would stay again. But if you hesitate over not having the latest brand new everything state of the art, you’ll probably be let down. I liked the history and the character.

The property is showing some age. But …… you can’t beat the ocean view! Easy to find with good parking. The check-in was easy, friendly. Room was functional and clean. As others have noted, the hallways are tiled so it can be noisy.
