“Basic, but perfect spot for a day trip to Mackinac island. Parked at the hotel and an easy walk to the ferry. Basic motel set up but everything is either very new or very clean, it felt new.”

“We enjoyed our stay at Wayside Motel (one night). It was clean, the bed was comfortable and just an all around nice stay there. Check in was easy, manager was pleasant and informative. I would highly recommend this motel!”

“We ended up staying 2 times on this trip, exceptionally clean basic rooms, they filled our needs perfectly, great location for visitors to St. Ignace and being able to park right in front of our room made it super easy to unload our stuff for the evening. ”

“We stayed at Wayside the night before we were catching a ferry to Mackinac Island. The rooms were completely remodeled - new paint, carpet, bathrooms, etc. Very clean and comfortable stay. The staff was super friendly and helpful - they called to let us know about an item we left in the room and called the ferry shuttle to pick us up. Overall great stay and service! ”

“Room was clean but very dated. Bed was ok not terrible but not that comfortable. Not the best value imo. Woman at desk was friendly during check in. ”

“Enjoyed our stay. Nothing fancy but was perfect for us. Very clean, roomy, updated and had what we needed. Loved the area. A 5-10 minute walk to the Ferry and downtown for some shopping and restaurants. A couple of things that I would add/change but am not complaining because you can’t beat the price for our stay. Nice to have-if there was a towel rack in the bathroom, nice to have-if there was just a light in the bathroom so the fan didn’t come on all the time and lastly move the lamps above our beds because they are low and we kept hitting our heads on them if sitting in bed. Lol Overall, a very nice stay and the owners were so helpful with whatever we needed.😊”
